It had been just over two weeks since they'd arrived, and Tahiri was packing. Not to go back to Fandom -- not yet. )

And here she'd been thinking this trip hadn't been awkward enough.

Tahiri wondered how much time had passed in Fandom; from what little the Jaina there had told her about her own trips home, she guessed that time didn't necessarily move at the same pace. She had no idea how much longer she'd be gone or even what would happen, but for now she had a few minutes to herself. It seemed as good a time as any to put in a call or two back to Fandom, or wherever her friends were now.

[OOC: Yeah, this post is totally a spacer to spread things out a little longer. If your character knows what she's up to and would like a (brief) call from Tahiri, feel free to ping in as receiving one! She won't really give out details (so I don't joss myself) but you're welcome to have her check in with you if you like. Mega-SP during the day as I sneak tags on my phone and then around in the afternoon/evening Pacific time.]

They'd taken a circuitous route to get the scant few hundred meters out from the kill zone, which under normal circumstances would annoy Tahiri, but as she trailed Luke and Mara she knew it was a tactic to shake off any Yuuzhan Vong who might be watching them. (Here there be fighty, banter, and the other person what lives in Tahiri's head.) )

[OOC: NFI, NFB, OOC okay, et cetera et cetera and so forth. Adapted from Rebel Dream by Aaron Allston, who is not as anviliciously femmeslashy as Sean Williams and Shane Dix but he writes better dialogue. Not that that has a thing to do with this post. I'm JUST SAYING, to get a crack in at Williams/Dix dialogue. Posted earlyish . . . just 'cause, dammit.]

weetuskenraider: (Suspicious)
So far, Tahiri was a little annoyed that she was missing spring break for this. )

[OOC: NFB, NFI, OOC-OK, all that jazz, and we're off! (For the next week I cram two books' worth of action in. Er. This is the first time I've ever done a canon catchup thing, OMG. *flail*) Most of this is mine, but part of the dialogue is adapted from Enemy Lines 1: Rebel Dream by Aaron Allston, from a conversation Tahiri actually has with Jaina; it just seems to make sense for FH Tahiri to have it with Mara here. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] momslilassassin for letting me use an AU wee baby Ben!]

weetuskenraider: (Have a Bad Feeling About This)
Tahiri, after some debate (and Dinah's persuasion), had decided that the school spring break trip sounded like it would be fun after all, even if initially the idea of being out on the water didn't seem like a good idea for a girl who'd grown up in the desert and still couldn't really swim. She was halfway under her bed, rooting around for her equipment pack, when her comlink beeped.

That was enough to catch her attention; when she got communications from home they were usually asking her for advice on how the Yuuzhan Vong thought, and any news had been vague at first, only now starting to divulge more than just the barest facts of how the war was going.

This wasn't really the conversation she wanted to have tonight. )

"Sithspawn," Tahiri grumbled. "Of all the stupid, stupid timing."

She sighed, put down the comlink, and picked up the phone to make a couple of calls.

[OOC: Establishy and details of convo NFB, but open if you want to see her before she heads off for the week. I apologize in advance for spamming your flists the next few days, but I couldn't resist doing this over spring break week. Because I am mean.]
