Karla's heart broke again. "Please don't," she whispered. "Please don't comfort me." Karla wasn't certain how to explain that her growing rage was the only thing keeping her together, and if Tahiri took that from her... She reached out with one hand to clasp Tahiri's and with the other, wiped off some of the blood that was smeared across Tahiri's forehead. "I will fix this," she vowed. "Darkness help me, I will fix this."
