weetuskenraider: (Lightsaber and Scars (Book Art))
Tahiri had been to Coruscant three times since the war began, and every single one of those had been an infiltration mission. This time was no different. )

[OOC: NFI, NFB, OOC-okay, majorly tl;dr, and finished. Also kind of half-assed because the original got eaten. Stupid computer. Heavily summarized with bits of dialogue ganked from The Unifying Force by James Luceno, the last little bit by me, and Tahiri will be home tomorrow, yay. Seriously, that final battle is ridiculous.]

It had been several weeks on Zonama Sekot, and they'd been too busy for Tahiri to have much room for complaint -- except for the part where they were pretty much cut off from contact with the outside world. )

[OOC: NFI, NFB, OOC okay, dear god. That was a lot of summarizing and a little BSing of fairly dry stuff. Also this kind of sucks because hi, my computer ate this one and the two other files I had originally prepped. -_- Adapted from The Unifying Force by James Luceno, two more to follow tomorrow, and then I'm done.]

weetuskenraider: (Have a Bad Feeling About This)
Two Jedi, encircled by thirty Yuuzhan Vong warriors moving toward them at a rapid rate -- it didn't take a Givin to know those were bad odds. "Remember, you're supposed to be training me," Tahiri said, turning to stand back-to-back with Corran. "What does the wise Jedi do in a situation like this?"

"The wise Jedi avoids situations like this," Corran said.

"Oh," Tahiri replied dryly. "I guess I don't know any wise Jedi, then. Very disillusioning."

"Right. And that's your lesson for the day-don't hang on to your illusions."

She felt for the power stud of her lightsaber. "I was hoping more for a crash course in 'how to kick butt when you're outnumbered thirty to two.'"

"Well, if you're going to be picky about what I teach . . ."

Everything happened pretty quickly after that. )

[OOC: Yep, still NFI/NFB/OOC-okay. For the last time, adapted from The Final Prophecy by Greg Keyes. Yeah, I love that first bit way too much to put it behind a cut. Yes, Friday, shut up. I meant to hit post two hours ago.

. . . and now, straight on to The Unifying Force starting Sunday. I'm so sorry, but there was just no way to break them up.]

It had never been as busy in Tahiri's head as it was right now. )

[OOC: And for the last time on this canon catchup, we do the alphabet soup dance of NFI, NFB, OOC-AOK. Battle details and the aftermath adapted from Destiny's Way by Walter Jon Williams, although in the actual canon narrative Tahiri doesn't appear. I'm starting to go with [livejournal.com profile] momslilassassin's theory that maybe she took a break and went for a soda or something, but dude, like I was gonna leave that hanging.]

After the Knighting came the reception in their honor, and it was just as ornate and ritzy as the ceremony that had preceded it. )

[OOC: NFB, NFI, OOC okay, wow this one is short, yadda yadda. Dialogue from Destiny's Way by Walter Jon Williams, and I am so not above usurping part of the book she's not actually in for the sake of carrying on this week's motif.]

weetuskenraider: (Looking Up)
When Tahiri had gotten onto the shuttle to head back home, she'd known the first thing on the agenda, before heading to Kashyyyk to join up with Admiral Kre'fey's fleet, was going to be the ceremony on Mon Calamari. To that end she'd spent much of the trip from Fandom reading up on strategy and going over everything she'd learned in Flight and Flying and in her lessons with Jaina. (All things considered, it was probably a good thing that she had no idea there'd been a debate over whether Knighting her was going to be an express ticket to the dark side. She had enough issues with that.)

What she hadn't been expecting was to be standing on stage in a huge auditorium, staring up at a giant holoprojection of Anakin. Every time Tahiri had ever imagined what it'd be like when she finally made Jedi Knight, she'd always thought she'd see him there; she just never thought it would be like this. )

[OOC: Part one of . . . several. NFB, NFI, OOC okay, we all know this dance, right? Adapted from Destiny's Way by Walter Jon Williams.]

weetuskenraider: (Half-Face WTF Look)
Tahiri and her two Jedi Master companions had circled around the Yuuzhan Vong coralskippers that hovered outside the collapsed hole the construction droid had bored into the side of a ziggurat, and met up with Face on a floor half a kilometer up. 'Interesting . . .' )

***

They dropped through a hole in the ceiling -- a dramatic entrance, but Tahiri was too preoccupied by using the Force to slow her descent to appreciate the theatrics of it. (Here there be fighty, lots of it, brief mention of torture, and more of that other person what lives in Tahiri's head.) )

[OOC: NFI, NFB, OOC-okay, and DONE! My apologies for spamming you all with this the past few days, but it was fun to put together. For the last time, contains a nod to Edge of Victory 1: Conquest by Greg Keyes, and dialogue and adapted narrative from Rebel Stand by Aaron Allston, with some tweaks by me and great POV-rewriting justice. Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] tatooine_doofus for letting me borrow a version of Luke here and in the previous posts, as there was no way I could have adapted this otherwise.]

They were in a long gallery that had once been flanked by stores and emporiums now, still following Luke's lead; he'd been following what he said was some sense of distant wrongness in the Force, but neither Tahiri nor Mara had consistently picked up on the same thing. This time, though, she had . . . )

[OOC: NFI, NFB, OOC-okay, you know the drill. I get the part of this duology that doesn't all take place in hard vacuum, mwahaha. Dialogue and narrative still borrowed and/or adapted from Rebel Stand by Aaron Allston, with some additions by me, and look, mostly I just kept this scene because I love Kell Tainer a lot more than Tahiri does.]
