"Ender wanted a chance to see the Senate at work and he doesn't class again until Friday, so I figured we could squeeze in a quick trip there and back. Plus this way I don't have to watch the Senate all that long." His voice grew a little playful. "I'll bring you a present, too."

Tahiri'd missed Ben's message on account of being in the shower, using up enough water to make half of Tatooine collectively shriek in horror so she could get the blue paint off her face, but she sent a quick message back as soon as she got it.

"Hey, you. Sounds, um --" The next bit was muffled, since she was in the middle of getting dressed, but she'd meant to say 'exciting.' "Don't get too bored. I know you, and I know the Senate. You two have a good trip, and say hi to your dad for me, maybe?"
