Room 529, Wednesday Night

Tahiri was slowly rearranging the room -- mostly moving furniture around a little, cleaning up the area under her bed that had started to resemble the inside of a sandcrawler, little things like that -- and had spent almost all day occupied by the task.

It finally occurred to her that she should eat, but not having anything on hand in the room it'd mean going out. Which in her case, did not involve putting on shoes, though she did head for the closet to grab her cloak first.

The problem started when she put a hand on the doorknob, turned it, heard the click of the latch -- and the door absolutely refused to budge. At all. Not even with a good hard Force shove behind it.

. . . if, at any point, her attempts to open the door involved her putting one foot on the wall for leverage and ended with her falling flat on her ass and snarling something horrifying in Yuuzhan Vong, she wasn't about to admit to it. (For the record, the window refused to cooperate either, when she entertained the notion of just jumping down from there.)

Well. Sithspit.

[OOC: Yeah, I'm pissed at canon spoilers too, so trickster_twin told me I could steal her idea. The door'll open from the outside, if anyone wants to come by, but Tahiri is grounded and not getting out either. *g* Look, you're lucky this post wasn't in capslock. But it's open.]

Raven was getting a mindful of Tahiri's mood down the hall, and despite her frustration that Chuck hadn't let her help him earlier in the week, she had to go check on her friend. "Tahiri?" she called, knocking on the door. "Are you all right?"

A moment, if you will, before the verbal answer came, in which more latch-clicking and doorknob-twisting and swearing yielded absolutely nothing.

"Oh, I'm fine. I'm kriffing starving," Tahiri called through the closed door, no small hint of complaining in her voice, "but I'm fine. I just, um, seem to be stuck."

"Stuck? How?" Raven said, hoping that Fandom wasn't dropping things on people and trapping them in their rooms. "Can I come in? Perhaps I can help."

"Be my guest, if you want to try it." Tahiri sighed. This was a ridiculously embarrassing thing for a Jedi to have to say, but . . . "I can't open my kriffing door."

Raven turned the knob and pushed at the door, expecting resistance. She could always teleport in if it didn't work, but the door swung inward because she was not a Star Wars character. "It seems to be fine," she said, puzzled.

"Oh, Force, that's a relief," Tahiri blurted out as the door swung open, bounding forward and . . . running smack into nothing.

"Phahg."

Raven cautiously took a step forward and moved into the room. Then she realized that might have been a bad idea and took a step back, and easily passed through the door again. "It does not seem to affect me, whatever this is," she said, moving into the room again.

Tahiri stared at her, then reached out and poked at her own doorway again; it didn't make any sound, and she couldn't see anything, but there was a definite solid, invisible something keeping her in.

"Okay, that's really not fair."

"What could be doing this?" Raven said, frowning. "Perhaps I can teleport you out?"

"Could we try?" Tahiri asked, as her stomach made a loud noise of protest. "I was going to get myself some dinner. As you can probably tell, I need it."

[trigons_child]

"Of course," Raven said, offering Tahiri her hand. Her Soul-Self swept upward from her shoulders to wrap around both of them, and she teleported out into the hallway, reappearing...without Tahiri.

Tahiri, who was still standing in the exact same place she'd been, and looking more annoyed than ever. "Very funny, Fandom. Ha, ha. You're hysterical."

"Should I get someone?" Raven fretted. "Or I could get you some food, at the very least." Your hunger, give it to me.

. . . has anyone told you that's a little disturbing, Raven? Just a little. Coughinterventioncough.

"I've been in worse situations than trapped in my own room," Tahiri tried to reassure her, although wow, that still sounded pathetic. "But if you could get me something to eat, I'd appreciate it?"

She just liked being helpful!

"I would be happy to," Raven said with a smile. "What would you like?"

"Anything at this point," Tahiri said sheepishly. "I know it's awfully late. I was thinking of going to get a burger but at this point I'd settle for cereal from the common room."

[trigons_child]

"Let me see what I can find," Raven said. "I will be right back." She walked down the hall to the common room to rummage through the cupboards, returning with some leftover spaghetti and a few slices of bread. "How is this?" she asked. "I can teleport into town for something else if you'd like."

Shut up.

Force, Tahiri would have settled for grayweave at this point; leftover spaghetti was almost gourmet in comparison. "It's plenty, Raven," she assured her with a smile, but also a mildly wounded look -- rub it in about being able to walk in and out, why don't you, Raven. "I really appreciate it, even if I have no kriffing clue what's doing this."

"Is there anyone you can think of that would want to keep you imprisoned?" Raven said, looking around the room with a frown. "Or perhaps it is just Fandom strangeness and will fade in a few hours."

"Not a kriffing clue." Tahiri sighed and ran a hand through her hair, then took a bite of bread. "Jaina's stuck too, looks like."
