A Quiet Spot on the Beach, Tuesday Afternoon

It was definitely, definitely warm enough for spending long stretches of time on the beach again -- say, for example, with a blanket and a well-stocked picnic basket, and (for old time's sake, a small tent (set well back from the water's edge) by a fire pit. Plenty of room for lightsaber sparring, too, if they chose to do that; it wasn't a clear space but that just made things better, didn't it? Leaping over rocks and sidestepping small obstacles on the ground was basic stuff anyway.

It was a good week for a date like this too, with not much else going on. That it all felt a bit calm-before-the-storm hadn't escaped Tahiri, but she wasn't bringing that up just yet, and if Ben was picking up on that impression too she wouldn't be surprised if he kept it to himself, either. Observations like that didn't seem very conducive to enjoying themselves.

Enjoying themselves being the point, the observation could remain unspoken for now.

Now there was food, ice cream for later, the sound of the waves, and the prospect of watching the sun set over the water. Hard to complain about any of that, really.
