Disneyland Paris, Tuesday Fandom Time

Tahiri only had days left in Fandom, and in her determination to make them count she'd made up her mind to spend some quality time with Firekeeper and Blind Seer while she could.

. . . yes, this meant portaling the three of them back to Disneyland to show them what they'd missed while they'd been away; from what Jaina had said (or more significantly, hadn't said) about the experience she suspected the bright colors and cheerfulness might do the wolves some good.

It had taken some smooth talk -- always a challenge for her -- and a little bit of Jedi mind trickery to get them to let Blind Seer into the park as a companion animal, but she'd managed, and had her map in hand as they headed onto Main Street.

"I scouted the place pretty thoroughly while I was covering Master Skywalker's class," she told them in her usual rapidfire way. "And there's a few rides that are so bizarre you have to experience them to believe them."

She really should have a bad feeling about this, but . . .

Firekeeper wasn't even really at the point of looking at any of the rides yet, being too distracted by the sights, sounds, smells... all of it, really.

"What," she pointed to someone dressed up in a giant cartoon mouse costume, "is that?"

"They're not supposed to be real animals," Tahiri said quickly. "They're all characters in the park . . . um, kids come up and take pictures with them and things like that. Or --"

She watched as a middle-aged couple all but charged Mickey for a photo op.

"Well, not just kids, I suppose."

"I think," Firekeeper said slowly, "I understand." Not that she'd be indulging in anything like that herself anytime soon, thank you.

Blind Seer glanced over at the artificial 'river' with the boat docked at the edge and gave Firekeeper a quizzical look. "No," she scowled, giving him a shove.

Tahiri watched the exchange and chuckled softly. "I know this sounds strange, but it's almost like meeting some of the figures from some of your legends, for them. And don't worry --" she leaned over to elbow Firekeeper lightly -- "I wasn't going to make you get on the big boat, even though the water's really only a couple of feet deep. There's a few rides with little boats, though, if you're up for them."

"Can we try something with no boats first?" Firekeeper asked.

"Abso-kriffing-lutely." Tahiri glanced over toward Adventureland. "Would a giant treehouse do, for starters? And maybe a ride that tells you a story about a haunted town?"

"Stories," Firekeeper said firmly, not sure how to phrase the question of whether Blind Seer would be able to manage a treehouse ride without offending his dignity.

"I ought to have known," Tahiri replied, pretending to be long-suffering, although she did think to add, "The treehouse has stairs, by the way. It's a little bit silly, but fun to climb."

"Then we shall do so after," Firekeeper decided. "But I want to hear this story!" That was not a petulant tone to her voice at all, really.

Tahiri burst out laughing and reached out to sling an arm around Firekeeper's shoulders. "Phantom Manor it is, then," she declared, leading the way toward Frontierland. "See that mountain in the middle of the island there? It's part of the whole story, but they'll tell that on the ride."

Firekeeper followed Tahiri's gaze and nodded. Blind Seer's presence meant they didn't have too much trouble working their way through the crowds- most people made a point to avoid the rather large wolf. Which... almost disappointed him, to be honest, as he didn't even have to flash his fangs at anyone to get them to move.

"Is it true story?" Firekeeper wondered. "Or made-up one?" Look, her only experience with ghosts had been in Fandom, where there were plenty of people from places where ghosts weren't just stories.

"It's Disneyland. I'm fairly sure it's a made-up one," Tahiri decided. "Or maybe not -- who knows?"

She gave Firekeeper a mischievous grin, eyes sparking with excitement. "Don't you think we'll just have to go ride it, and find out for ourselves?"

Well, like Firekeeper knew anything at all about Disneyland! Tahiri at least had been once before.

"Is probably best way to find out, yes," she agreed with an answering grin.

"After all, they do sort of encourage us to have adventures in here," Tahiri went on, and maybe Disneyland did have a little real magic of its own; she couldn't help feeling a bit like a kid again, back when every day was a new chance for her and Anakin to find something new to explore and most likely some new trouble to get into as well. "Hopefully the line isn't awful yet."

She probably should have explained that part.

"Line?" Firekeeper echoed a little dubiously.

Stang.

"Line," Tahiri repeated. "Um . . . to get onto the ride, we may have to wait."

No, she was not using the Force to get them to the front of the line.

"I do not like waiting," Firekeeper frowned and crossed her arms, as if this would do anything at all to rectify this situation.

"Neither does anyone else," Tahiri was quick to point out. "But they can't load everyone onto the ride at once, and this one at least moves pretty fast. Besides, they tell part of the story while you're in line . . . ?"

Except maybe people at ComicCon. Not that either of them knew what that was.

"Well," she huffed. "That is better. If we get to that part soon."

No, but Francine and Katchoo would.

"Then what are we waiting for?" Tahiri so owed Jaina credits for that line. "Come on, it's over this way!"

She wasn't actively Force-nudging people out of their path, no. Occasionally suggesting they might want to shift a little to one side or the other, maybe, but either way they were set to make it to the ride queue in record time.

Blind Seer didn't even need to use the Force to do that, and in fact, once they made it to the line, a good number of people ahead of them glanced nervously at the wolf before casually slinking out.

"Is not so bad," Firekeeper observed, once they were settled in line. It seemed to be moving rather quickly, too, even without people inexplicably (hah) deciding to leave.

Strange, that. Tahiri couldn't possibly imagine why they'd want to leave!

"No," she agreed with a conspiratorial smile. The line took them through the gates of a run-down manor and across overgrown gardens littered with broken statuary. DON'T BLINK. "But it's almost a shame, if just because I wanted to get a really good look at all the details in the garden."

Which was hard, when they were approaching the front doors of the house.

"The day is still young," Firekeeper said optimistically. As the booming voice came over the speakers, she absolutely did not stiffen up in surprise. Really.

Tahiri knew her friend well enough to not try and use the Force to calm her, but she did subtly shift over just a step closer; the cast member dressed as a domestic servant who'd opened the door for them was pretty big and imposing.

"Well, we have come all this way uphill," she quipped to the wolves, moving into the foyer. "May as well keep going, huh?"

She'd only been startled for a moment, anyway, before remembering it was likely just part of the story. Like a play. "I did not expect it so loud," she admitted with a shrug, because, well. No harm in admitting that.

"They like their drama here," Tahiri quipped (quietly, so as not to drown out the faint sound of a song coming from nowhere), and pointed to the mirror in a corner, where a woman's image flickered in and out of view.
