The key word there was "normally." But what about the last couple of weeks had been normal?
At the moment, she was sitting on the edge of her bed, comlink in hand, leaving a variant of the same message for the third or fourth time.
"I know this is kind of a bizarre request, but . . . you don't have some kind of mission I could go on, or a briefing, or anything? Something I'd need to leave for, um, right now?"
Nobody was picking up today, though.
Of course not. Just when she'd do almost anything to get out of having to go to that lecture.
