She couldn't help smirking for a moment. "They send holos sometimes. They're awfully cute."

"If it's any consolation, you're not drooling all over yourself any more," Tahiri said, hoping her amusement wasn't carrying too much in her voice.

"Oh, that's very reassuring," Ben said. "Did they tell you the story of the day they found me teething on a lightsaber hilt? Gave them a heart attack."

Tahiri burst out laughing, then made a noise that was the Tusken equivalent of 'naturally.' "So that explains the time I got a message that was just your dad starting to say hi and then hanging up. You would, Ben."

"It felt nice!" Ben protested. "Very cool in my mouth."

"You actually remember that? Of course you do." Tahiri snickered. "Don't tempt me to find out all the embarrassing stories about you as a toddler just so I can ask you for your side of them."

She would, too.

"Oh, you're already tempted," Ben said, laughing ruefully.

[weetuskenraider]

"Just remember, you gave me the idea," Tahiri warned him playfully.

"Yeah, and I'll be kicking myself about it for hours," Ben said, laughing.

[weetuskenraider]

"I promise, any information you happen to give me won't be used against you," Tahiri told him. "Only for my own amusement."

That undoubtedly made it so much better.

"That makes it so much better," Ben replied.

Tahiri chuckled. "I try, Skywalker. I try."

Ben laughed. "Love you, Veila."

[weetuskenraider]

"Love you too, gundark," Tahiri said, and no one should be able to make that sound so affectionate.

Ben laughed again. "I'm hanging up now. May the Force be with you."

"And with you," Tahiri answered. "Bye, Ben."
